Customers from any country, including Iran, can participate in all our lotteries. You may experience problems with some payment options though, depending on your country of residence. Our credit card processor works for almost all countries in the world, including Iran, but you must have a Visa or Mastercard. Cards from the Shetab network cannot be used through this payment provider. But we are in the process of establishing a different solution especially for our Iranian customers, see below.
To participate in one of the lotteries, just click on one of the lotteries (“Play”), pick your numbers and then click on “Pay”.
Next, you will be guided through the registration process. Just enter your email address and a password and click “Submit”. After that, we will send an email to you which includes a confirmation link. Click that link to activate your client account. Please do not forget to check your “Unknown” and “Spam” folder if you do not see our email right away. After that, you can make a payment for the tickets you ordered. Choose one of the payment methods that we have on our site, such as credit card, Paypal, bank transfer, Bitcoin, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafecard, etc.
If you are a resident of Iran, you may have found it difficult to deposit money at RedFoxLotto, or pay for tickets. Iranian credit cards, unfortunately, do not work on our site.
If you have a Visa or Mastercard from a different country, you can use it, but you will have to use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to log in via an IP address from the country where your credit card was issued. Read the instructions below to find out how to get and use a VPN.
Payment methods available to Iranian residents
As most of our payment methods currently cannot be used by Iranian residents due to the US sanctions, we suggest that you consider opening a Bitcoin wallet in order to process payments and withdrawals.
In any case, once you have a Bitcoin wallet, you still need to use a VPN before making a payment at RedFoxLotto. More info on that below.
There is another option for you to deposit money into your account at RedFoxLotto, and that is Paysafecard. Those cards are not for sale in Iran, but if you have a friend or relative living outside Iran, they can buy one for you. They will get a paper printout with a code. Your friend can then email you that code, and you can use it to deposit money at RedFoxLotto.
Those Paysafecards can have any value that you want.
Important: Before you deposit or pay via Paysafecard, make sure that you use a VPN as described below!
How to use a Virtual Private Network (VPN)
If you are in Iran, it is important that you use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) to change your IP address before you make your transaction on RedFoxLotto. If you do not have one already, you should get one. For this, there are two options:
- Go to PureVPN (click this link), get your VPN, install the software on your computer. This is not a free service, but it is quite reliable, and you can use it for many things. It protects your privacy and helps avoid internet censorship.
- A free alternative would be to install Opera (click here to download). This is a very popular browser software that comes with a free VPN. Make sure that you enable the VPN in the settings of Opera after installation.
This is how you proceed to make a purchase :
- Close your browser first
- Start your VPN
- Choose a country (do not use USA or The Netherlands, we suggest Norway, France or Belgium)
- Restart your browser (if you use Opera, you can skip steps 1-3 and just start the built-in VPN and connect)
- If you want you can use https://whatismyipaddress.com/ to double-check your current IP address
- Log in to your account at RedFoxLotto, buy your tickets
- Then choose Bitcoin to pay.
You can also deposit money into your RedFoxLotto account via Bitcoin first, and then pay for tickets from your balance. Make sure you are connected to your VPN the whole time.
What happens if I win, and how do I withdraw money?
Any winnings up to € 2500 will be automatically transferred to your user account on our website. From there you can withdraw the won amount. Please keep in mind that you can only use a method that you have previously used to pay for a ticket or a deposit!
If you win an amount higher than €2500, you can get paid to a bank account of your choice, or you can get a check, which you can cash in at any bank. We are not sure whether a bank in Iran can cash in a check from a foreign country though. But there is always the option to use a bank account in a different country if, for example, you have a trustworthy friend or family member living outside Iran. For a bank transfer, we are going to need some documents for verification. Our support will contact you with more details.
What if I win a very large sum or even the jackpot?
In such a case, if you reside in Iran, we would strongly suggest that you should be in contact with us and arrange a time and place where you can pick up your lottery ticket in person. Then you would have to present the ticket to the lotto commission. They will then pay you with a check. An Iranian bank will probably not be able to cash in such a check. Your best option would then be to choose a country where you can open a bank account (maybe a tax haven like the Cayman Islands), travel there and find a friendly bank. They will probably be happy to open a bank account for you and issue a credit card that can be used anywhere in the world to access your funds.
What about taxes in the country of the lottery?
In the US, if a foreigner wins an amount of over $ 1 million, the lottery will deduct 30% from your winnings and transfer it to the tax authorities. Most European lotteries are tax-free.
What about taxes in Iran?
We cannot help you with this question. It is impossible for us to know what the tax regulations are in various countries. You should discuss this with an accountant who is familiar with the tax regulations in your country of residence.
